JOB SUMMARY
Our Pre-press department’s main goal is to provide accurate printing resources to our printing operation utilizing the best technology. As a Pre-Press Assistant you will be responsible for submission and approval of art PDFs and contract proofs. Review art files and create production orders for color separation, proof production and flexographic plate production. This position would be working out of our Salinas, CA location.


ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

 Prepare digital files for color printing, ensuring they meet customer standards
•  Prep files for printing process (file manipulation, placement etc.)
•  Process PDF’s and graphics ensuring resources are available to complete the job
•  Assist in conducting internal and customer-driven press checks; print optimization trials; and service provider qualification trials 

QUALIFICATIONS
•  High school diploma or equivalent, Bachelors in Graphics Communication preferred
•  2+ years of graphics experience using graphic applications
•  Self-motivated, ability to work independently with minimal oversight
•  Knowledge of Adobe CS 5 (or newer)
•  Knowledge of File Maker Pro preferred but not required

JOB SUMMARY
Under the supervision of the Press Manager, the Press Operator must set up, operate, maintain, repair and adjust presses, assist in training, check quality, work closely with the maintenance, mounting and ink departments, and make sure coworkers follow safe work practices.


ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

•  Operate a press. This includes set ups, running jobs, monitoring inks, maintenance and repair, and supervising the work of a helper. Run at best possible speed. Minimize waste. Troubleshoot when needed.
•  Check print quality throughout the shift.
Follow the job schedule. Where there are any questions about the schedule, Direct them to your immediate section leader.
•  Fill out production reports and any other necessary reports.
 Assist in the training of department personnel.
•  Make sure your press is turned over to the next shift clean and well stocked.

QUALIFICATIONS
•  Previous work experience on a flexographic press preferred.
•  Knowledge of math and measurements.
•  Ability to work well with others.

JOB SUMMARY
Under limited supervision, assist department manager with overall press department in both operations and production. Must set up, operate, maintain and help repair press machines. Must supervise team members in the department, understand schedule, assist with trainings, check quality, and work closely with other departments to ensure safe practices are followed. This is a non-exempt role.


ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

•  Check print quality throughout the shift. Making sure plates are cleaned, and returned cleaned to the mounting department.
•  Understand operation of all company presses. Able to troubleshoot when needed.
•  Double check all job set-ups on all presses and signing off with approval.
•  Work with maintenance department to make sure machines are repaired and maintained.
•  Follow print job schedule.
•  Complete production reports and any other reporting, including but not limited to injury reports.
•  Evaluate performance of department personnel.

QUALIFICATIONS
Experience in a fast paced, manufacturing environment preferred.
•  Minimum of 3 years in a supervisor role.
•  Available to work 12 hour shifts; as needed.
•  Available to work weekends.
•  Able to lift a minimum of 50 lbs.
•  Available for night shift.
