Job Summary:

Responsible for quality control and some machine operations. Must inspect bags and work with others to maintain the machine. Make sure safe work practices are followed.

Essential Functions:

  • Pack bags. Keep machine operating at best possible speed & minimize waste

Job Summary:

Responsible for changing plastic rolls on bag machines & operating forklifts. Make sure safe work practices are followed.

Essential Functions:

  • Transport material by operating forklifts
  • Change rolls of plastic on bag machines

Job Summary:

  • Operate a press. This includes set ups, running jobs, monitoring inks, maintenance and repair, and supervising the work of a helper. Run at best possible speed and minimize waste.
  • Understand the operation of the press you run. Be able to troubleshoot when needed.
  • Check print quality throughout the shift. Take necessary action to meet quality required. Make sure plates are clean during printing, and make sure they are returned clean to the mounting department after press run.
  • Follow instructions on the job envelope and specifications sheet.
  • Follow the job schedule. Where there are any questions about the schedule, Direct them to your immediate supervisor.
  • Fill out production reports and any other necessary reports.
  • Must have previous work experience in flexo printing

Job Summary:

Assist department manager with overall press department operations and production.  Must set up, operate, maintain and help repair a press machine and must know how to assist on the other departments.  Must supervise staff, understand production schedule, assist in training, check quality, work closely with the maintenance, mounting and ink departments, and make sure safe work practices are followed.

Essential Functions:

  • Responsible for production, safety, waste, and downtime during a shift
  • Help coordinate department personnel. This includes helping assign machines and overtime, ensuring that all positions are covered, calling in employees, and supervising coworkers
  • Operate a press as needed. This includes setups, running jobs, monitoring inks, maintenance and repair, and supervising the work of a helper.
  • Ensure machines are run at best possible speeds with minimal waste
  • Check print quality throughout the shift
  • Understand the operation of all company presses. Be able to troubleshoot when needed on any press.
  • Double checks all job set-ups on all presses and sign the front of the job envelope. Ensure that setups are performed in a timely manner.
  • Work with the maintenance department to make sure machines are repaired and maintained in a proper and timely manner. Put all maintenance needs in writing.
  • Fill out production reports and any other necessary reports, including injury reports
  • Oversee training and development of department personnel
  • Evaluate the performance of department personnel

Qualifications:

  • At least three years of experience as a press operator
  • Excellent knowledge of press operations, including all company presses, and company procedures
  • Knowledge of math, measurements, plate mounting and inks
  • Ability to work with management and direct individuals

Job Summary:

Emerald Packaging, a leader in the flexible packaging industry is looking for an experienced Maintenance Mechanic with excellent mechanical and electrical experience.  Previous experience in manufacturing needed, familiarity with printing presses desired.  Applicants should be self-motivated, able to work independently with little direction and have the ability to operate in a fast paced work environment.

ELECTRICAL Knowledge Requirements:

  • Strong understanding of AC/DC theory
  • Fully versed in the use of a DMM
  • Knows PLC’s, particularly Allen Bradley, IIS and XDC
  • Understand how to read Schematics and modify if necessary
  • Understand temperature controllers and feedback devices (TC, RTD, J type, etc.)

MECHANICAL Knowledge Requirements:

  • Working knowledge of idlers, bearings and gear boxes
  • Working knowledge of diaphragm pumps
  • Ability to do metal fabrication
  • General machine rebuilding
  • Working knowledge of hydraulic and pneumatic systems

Job Summary:

Design, direct and manage all printing/press related operations throughout the manufacturing facility.

Essential Functions:

  • Establish guidelines to review employee compliance to established procedures and techniques such as color theory, graphic artwork, solvent based flexographic printing, densitometers/spectrophotometers, fingerprinting, anilox types, sticky backs and configurations, print step and repeat calculations, printing sleeves, coatings, printing plate mounting equipment, printing on different substrates such as OPP, PET, LDPE, laminated metalized substrates.
  • Review all production run estimates for printing to insure all necessary equipment and consumables are present for the production of work and equipment run speeds are being met. Find ways to increase productivity.
  • Work with the functional managers and QC to maintain constant quality and communication from shift to shift to meet customer expectations.
  • Monitor the replenishment cycle and purchasing of all supplies relating to printing and ancillary tooling/parts such as anilox rolls, print cylinders, print sleeves, sticky back, & Inks.
  • Coordinate and manage the press department’s Preventative Maintenance efforts and communicate all major repair needed with the maintenance director and the scheduling department to ensure minimal machine downtime to meet production needs.
  • Comply with and enforce safety rules and regulations, (machine guards in place, proper safety attire, hearing and eye protection). Insure all work areas are clean and safe.

Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of experience in press management role in the flexible packaging industry
  • Ability to lead, plan, and manage change
  • The ability to set priorities. Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Strong communication skills
  • Good computer literacy
  • Proven successful track record in taking projects from concept to implementation
  • Creative problem solver with a “can do” attitude with the ability to coach
